Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Made2Pet Inc. ("we", "us", "our") operates made2pet.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It is written to meet the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, other United States state privacy laws, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

We sell and ship to customers in the United States, Canada and Australia only. We do not offer goods or services to people outside these three countries.

1. Information we collect

•
Contact details — name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address.

•
Order details — products bought, order value, currency, order history, returns and refunds.

•
Payment information — handled by our payment processors. We receive confirmation of payment, the card brand and the last four digits; we never see or store your full card number.

•
Device and usage information — IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring page, approximate location derived from IP, and interactions with our site.

•
Cookies and similar technologies — see section 8.

•
Communications — emails, chat conversations (including with our website chat widget), reviews you submit, and customer-service notes.

•
Marketing preferences — whether you have opted in to email or SMS marketing, and your unsubscribe history.

We do not collect government identifiers, biometric data, health data, precise geolocation, or the personal information of children. We do not knowingly collect "sensitive personal information" as defined by California law.

2. How we collect it

Directly from you when you order, create an account, contact us, chat with us, leave a review, or sign up for marketing. Automatically from your device when you browse. From service providers such as our e-commerce platform, payment processors, carriers and analytics providers.

3. Why we use it

• To process, pack, ship and deliver your order, and to handle returns and refunds.

• To take payment, prevent fraud, and verify orders.

• To provide customer service and respond to your questions, including in chat.

• To send transactional messages — order confirmation, dispatch, delivery and refund notices.

• To send marketing messages, only where you have consented or where the law otherwise permits.

• To understand how the site is used, so we can improve it and measure our advertising.

• To meet legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations, and to establish or defend legal claims.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only as needed with:

•
Shopify — our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and processes orders and payments.

•
Payment processors — to take and refund payment.

•
Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners — to deliver your order and provide tracking.

•
Apps and service providers — including our website chat widget, our review platform, email and SMS providers, analytics, fraud-prevention and advertising partners.

•
Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants and auditors, under confidentiality.

•
Authorities — where required by law, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public.

•
A buyer or successor — if our business is sold or merged, subject to this policy.

Some sharing for advertising — for example, showing you our products on other sites — may be treated as "sharing", a "sale", or "targeted advertising" under United States state privacy laws. You can opt out at any time using the method in section 7 below, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal.

5. Where your information is processed

We are based in the United States and our service providers are located in the United States and other countries. Your personal information is therefore disclosed to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

For Australian customers this is an overseas disclosure for the purposes of APP 8. We take reasonable steps to ensure that overseas recipients handle your information consistently with the APPs. For Canadian customers, information may be accessible to United States authorities under United States law.

6. How long we keep it

•
Order and transaction records — for as long as needed to fulfil the order, handle returns, and meet tax and accounting requirements (generally seven years).

•
Customer-service and chat records — up to three years after the last contact.

•
Marketing preferences — kept until you unsubscribe, plus a suppression record so we do not contact you again.

•
Analytics and device data — typically up to 26 months.

•
Reviews — for as long as they are published, unless you ask us to remove them.

We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.

7. Your rights

California (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and to receive a copy; delete your personal information; correct inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including for cross-context behavioural advertising; limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any); and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. You may use an authorised agent to make a request. We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need an extension.

Other United States states. If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law — including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and others — you have similar rights to access, correct, delete, obtain a copy, and opt out of targeted advertising, sale or profiling. We honour those requests in the same way.

Canada (PIPEDA). You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and withdraw your consent to its use for marketing at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Australia (APPs). You may request access to the personal information we hold about you (APP 12) and ask us to correct it (APP 13). If you believe we have breached the APPs, you may complain to us first; we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

How to make a request. Email hello@made2pet.com with the subject "Privacy request". We may need to verify your identity before acting. Exercising your rights is free, and we will not treat you differently for doing so.

Opting out of sale or sharing. Use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or send us the request by email. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out for that browser and device.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember your preferences, keep you signed in, measure traffic, and — where you have consented or where the law allows — to measure and target advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may break parts of the store. Where required, we ask for consent before setting non-essential cookies.

9. Marketing messages

We send marketing email or SMS only with your consent, or where the law otherwise permits. Every marketing message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe mechanism.

•
Canada (CASL): we stop sending within 10 business days of an unsubscribe request.

•
Australia (Spam Act 2003): we action unsubscribe requests within 5 business days.

•
United States (CAN-SPAM): every commercial email includes our postal address and a working opt-out.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop transactional messages about an order you have placed.

10. Children

Our store is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 where California law applies). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls and reputable payment processors. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the relevant regulator as required by law — including the OAIC under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will change, and material changes will be announced on this page.
